November 7, 1994 WXYC of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill streamed bits 1s and 0s of audio content to the world.
This was the birth of internet radio as we know it today.
Along with its terrestrial counterpart WXYC 89.3 FM, the station continues to broadcast over at www.wxyc.org.
And top that radio feat/history, Rick Dees happened to be also an almunus of WXYC.

At RadioJinglesVIP.com, we always take pleasure working with radio stations no matter the size, format or market.
We are even more so proud to be working with the people at Red Fox Radio whose mission is not just to bringing quality radio but caring deeply for the community.
Here is what Red Fox Radio is all about:
Redfox Radio isn't like most radio stations. It cares deeply about the community in which it resides, It's residents and businesses.
"At the start of 2015, We aided Chatham based music store "Manny's music" after they had a break in by publicising the word about the local business and to drum up attention to put those who caused upset to justice.
We know what it's like to have nothing or to be at a disadvantage too, so with our annual project "TheChallenge" we aim to raise lots of money for different UK charities by staying awake for 24 hours and broadcasting a show of epic proportions. We have a lot of fun doing it, especially knowing our sleep deprivation is doing good in this world."

A week since its launch, Nokia fans are still frustrated that its updated Nokia MixRadio service is still not available in other countries.
The updated service was launched last week by Nokia as their take on Pandora, iTunes Radio and the soon to be launched YouTube Music service.
Despite an event that was supposedly global, only select countries can avail of the service.

The popularity of Pandora did not increase this year 2013.
However, reports have it that internet radio is still thriving, in fact, more and more listeners are tuning in at the start of the year.
The most hyped internet radio feature in America recorded no significant increase of listenership with 1.39 billion streams for two consecutive months.
The most shocking is that its active subscribers have now gone from 67 million to 65m since December of 2012.
This however is not the first dip in Pandora’s popularity. In June last year, the connections dropped to 1.08 billion from 1.1 billion, although it bounced to 1.16 in July of 2012.
Internet radio however is doing well. It is estimated that tuners will increase to 176.5 million this year from 132.6 million last year.
This translates to having fifty four percent of Americans listening to internet or sixty seven percent of total internet users hooked.

Dot fm (or .fm) is the official country domain code top-level or (ccTLD) in Micronesia. Also called the Federated States of Micronesia, the state is an archipelago of islets situated in the Pacific Ocean.
Apart from the for name reservations such as .org.fm , .net.fm, .com.fm, and others, any individual in the planet can get his own .fm website and that is of course with a fee.
The revenue for the payments actually goes to the Micronesia government.
Because of its obvious use, is mostly bought by FM radio stations and internet radio stations similar to the domains used like .am, .tv, .cd, .dj and .mu.
Some of these websites are: Last FM.
But there are also websites that are not music or radio related. Like the following:
Reaper.FM - digital workstation
Fastmail.FM - email provider
Ask.FM - online community
Tastebuds.FM - dating site
Charged.FM - events site
